About me
Marcella Toral is an early childhood educator with degrees in Physical Education and Pedagogy from UNISA. Since 2019, she has been part of the faculty at Avenues, where she has worked across different divisions, including WAM, and has spent the past five years as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher. Marcella is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences that honor the individuality of each child through differentiation and personalized support. She strongly values reflection as a metacognitive tool, helping young learners develop awareness of their thinking, learning, and growth. Grounded in play-based and inquiry-based learning approaches, she believes that curiosity, exploration, and autonomy are fundamental to children's development in the early years. Her teaching practice is centered on fostering independent, engaged, and confident learners who are empowered to make sense of the world around them.
